Duties and Responsibilities: 1. System & Infrastructure Management • Manage and monitor all systems and infrastructure, including VMware, Windows, Linux, SAN, Backup, and distributed systems (Wintel platforms). • Perform maintenance, support, configuration, upgrades, and improvements on distributed systems, ensuring optimal performance and security. • Contribute to project tasks related to system deployment, upgrades, and operational enhancements. • Support and manage daily operational flows such as beginning and end-of-day processes, including email, internet access, terminal services, PKI, remote access, and Active Directory. 2. Performance Monitoring & Troubleshooting • Monitor system and application software performance to identify bottlenecks, bugs, or areas for improvement. • Contribute to the diagnosis and resolution of support tickets (SD tickets) related to infrastructure issues during operation. • Support in the timely resolution of incidents, working with suppliers for third-level support when necessary. 3. Scripting & Automation • Write and maintain custom scripts for Windows and UNIX systems to automate tasks, increase efficiency, and reduce manual intervention. 4. Security, Data Retention & Backup Strategy • Apply and maintain operational strategies related to data retention, backup, security, and availability to ensure data protection and compliance. 5. Design & Support • Participate in designing operational and support systems to promote lean, efficient, and straightforward workflows. • Support infrastructure projects and contribute to the implementation of improvements to meet operational goals. 6. Team Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing • Integrate with the existing team, share competencies, and help in establishing and maintaining a knowledge base across infrastructure and operations. 7. Vendor & Supplier Management • Participate in managing support contracts, support timelines, and contacts of IT infrastructure suppliers. 8. Reporting & Communication • Provide regular updates on task and project progress to superiors. • Escalate operational or project issues promptly to ensure timely resolution. 9. Documentation   • Maintaining detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and incidents for audit and compliance purposes Qualifications: Education: University Degree (BSc/BA or MSc) in in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field Experience: at least 10 years in a similar position, ideally in a bank Hard skills Mandatory 1. Operating System Management o Expert-level administration of Windows Server (2016, 2019, 2022), Linux distributions (Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat), and macOS environments for deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting. 2. Server & Hardware Administration o Installing, configuring, upgrading, and troubleshooting physical servers, blade systems, rack-mounted hardware, and network equipment. 3. Virtualization & Cloud Platforms o Deployment, configuration, and management of virtual environments using VMware vSphere, including vCenter, ESXi hosts, and features such as vMotion, DRS, HA, and VM snapshots. o Knowledge of cloud Azure services. 4. Data Storage & Backup Solutions o Implementation of SAN, NAS, RAID, tape, and cloud-based backup solutions, including Commvault, for data protection, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning. 5. Cloud Collaboration & Productivity Tools o Administration and support of cloud services such as Microsoft Office 365 Suite, including Exchange Online, Teams, Outlook, and SharePoint Online, as well as Intune Mobile Device Management (MDM) for device security and compliance. 6. Security & Compliance o Managing firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint security, encryption, multi-factor authentication, patch management, and ensuring adherence to standards like ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA. 7. Automation & Scripting o Developing automation scripts using mainly PowerShell to streamline routine tasks, deployments, and configuration management. 8. System Monitoring & Performance Optimization o Using tools like Nagios, SolarWinds, Zabbix, or vRealize Operations for continuous monitoring; conducting performance tuning to ensure high availability. 9. User & Access Management o Managing Active Directory, LDAP, Group Policy, and RBAC for secure user and resource access. 10. Troubleshooting & Support o Diagnosing hardware failures, software bugs, network issues, and VMware-specific problems such as VM performance, datastore issues, or host connectivity. 11. Configuration Management & Documentation o Maintaining detailed documentation of configurations, network diagrams, and procedures; supporting audits and knowledge sharing. 12. Compliance & Regulatory Standards o Ensuring system controls and security measures meet standards such as ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA. 13. Patch & Vulnerability Management o Applying patches and updates across VMware vSphere, Commvault, Office 365, Intune, and cloud services, with vulnerability assessments to mitigate risks. 14. Remote Management & Access o Secure remote access via vSphere Web Client, SSH, VPNs, and cloud portals. Will be considered as a strong asset: 15. Network Infrastructure & Protocols o Configuration and management of LAN, WAN, VPN, VLANs, routing protocols, DNS, DHCP, SSL, and firewalls to ensure secure, reliable connectivity. Soft skills: 1. Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills o Quickly diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues to ensure system stability and security within a high-regulation environment. 2. Strong Communication and Clarity o Effectively explaining technical matters to non-technical staff and senior management, ensuring compliance with banking policies and regulations. 3. Attention to Security and Regulatory Compliance o Diligence in following security protocols and understanding compliance requirements (e.g., DORA, GDPR, PCI DSS). 4. Team Collaboration and Coordination o Working closely with security teams, compliance officers, and other IT departments to implement secure and compliant solutions. 5.
