Dar Essalam American School (DAS) in Rabat, Morocco, is seeking Elementary School Homeroom Teachers for Grades 1-5 to join its international team starting in August 2027. The role involves creating a safe, caring, and academically strong classroom environment where every student is supported. Key responsibilities include planning and delivering the grade curriculum, developing foundational literacy and numeracy, and supporting students' academic, social, and emotional growth.

Teaching and Learning

Plan units and lessons based on curriculum standards and intended learning outcomes.
Teach foundational literacy, numeracy, and other assigned subjects using explicit instruction, inquiry, and practice.
Design engaging learning that encourages student voice, choice, reflection, and independence while integrating the DAS 5Cs (Caring, Collaboration, Communication, Critical Thinking, and Creativity).
Use formative and summative assessments, student work, and standardized data to monitor progress and adjust teaching.
Differentiate instruction for students with varying levels, languages, and support needs in collaboration with support staff.

Students and School Culture

Build a classroom culture of belonging, respect, responsibility, and perseverance.
Maintain clear routines, accurate attendance, punctuality, and active supervision.
Apply behavior procedures and follow safeguarding, professional boundaries, health and safety, and incident reporting protocols.

Collaboration and Community

Collaborate with grade-level colleagues and specialist teachers on curriculum and assessment expectations.
Work with teaching assistants to plan student support and maintain classroom routines.\n- Build respectful relationships with parents and caregivers to communicate progress and concerns.\n- Contribute to school improvement, collaborative planning, and school events.
