IBDP Biology, IBDP Chemistry and Secondary Science Teacher

Dar Essalam American School (DAS) in Rabat, Morocco, is seeking an IBDP Biology, IBDP Chemistry and Secondary Science Teacher to join its international team starting August 2027. The role involves teaching DP Biology and DP Chemistry alongside assigned Secondary Science classes, focusing on building conceptual understanding, scientific literacy, and inquiry-based learning.

Teaching and Learning

• Plan and deliver DP Biology and DP Chemistry lessons according to IB subject guides.
• Teach Secondary Science courses and support student progression into the Diploma Programme.
• Develop skills in scientific inquiry, experimental design, laboratory safety, data analysis, and scientific communication.
• Prepare students for IB internal and external assessments, providing accurate feedback.
• Differentiate instruction for diverse student needs and utilize laboratory and scientific technology.

Students and School Culture

• Foster a classroom culture of curiosity, rigour, and respect.
• Maintain clear routines, punctuality, and active supervision with a focus on laboratory safety.\n- Adhere to safeguarding, professional boundaries, and health and safety procedures.

Collaboration and Community

• Collaborate with science colleagues, Secondary leadership, and the DP Coordinator on curriculum and assessment.
• Coordinate laboratory resources and maintain continuity between secondary and DP science courses.
• Stay current with IB practices and subject knowledge through professional learning.
• Communicate progress to students and families and contribute to school events.
