As an Early Childhood Teacher for a group of 1-2 year old children, you are responsible for the childrens overall well-being, a safe and structured daily routine, and pedagogically planned, goal-oriented activities. Your role combines expertise in early childhood education, sensitive and present interaction, and the ability to create a safe, predictable, and developmentally supportive environment for young children. You act as the pedagogical lead of your group and work closely with childcare assistants, other teachers, parents, and, when needed, external professionals. You guide and lead the groups pedagogical activities in a structured way and ensure that all practices are aligned with the early childhood education curriculum as well as CLPs values and ways of working. A key part of your role is planning, implementing, and evaluating activities. You design group activities based on childrens individual needs and create a calm, consistent daily rhythm that supports a sense of security for our children. You prepare and update each childs individual early childhood education plan (ECEC plan / VASU) in cooperation with parents and regularly monitor childrens development and well-being. In daily work, you are responsible for childrens basic care together with your team. You ensure that childrens fundamental needs are met, including meals, rest, hygiene, and dressing. You support childrens independence in an age-appropriate way and guide them in everyday skills calmly and encouragingly. The role requires flexibility and an understanding of young childrens individual rhythms and needs. Interaction plays a central role in this position, building safe and trusting relationships with children and respond sensitively to their needs. You support the development of childrens emotional and social skills by modelling calm, consistent, and respectful behaviour. You guide children clearly and consistently in everyday situations while setting appropriate boundaries in a safe and developmentally appropriate way. Play is the primary tool for learning. By creating a stimulating and safe learning environment that supports childrens cognitive, language, motor, and socio-emotional development. Planning and implement diverse activities such as physical play, music, sensory experiences, creative activities, and nature-based learning and ensuring that the learning environment is clear, engaging, and suitable for the childrens developmental stage. Collaboration with parents is an essential part of your role. You engage in daily communication with families, share information about the childs day, and contribute to building a respectful and open partnership. You organize and participate in ECEC (VASU) discussions and act as a professional and trustworthy partner for families. You are an active member of the work community and contribute to the development of team practices. You share your pedagogical expertise, support your colleagues, and commit to shared ways of working. You may also guide new employees or students and are expected to continuously develop your own professional skills. Observation and pedagogical documentation are integral to your work. You systematically monitor childrens development, well-being, and learning, and use your observations to plan and evaluate activities. You document activities and childrens progress according to agreed practices. In a group of 1-2 year-olds, special emphasis is placed on building a sense of security and attachment relationships. The daily routine is based on a clear and predictable rhythm that supports childrens emotional safety. Presence, calmness, and sensitivity are essential in your work. Supporting language development, motor skills, and emotional expression and interaction are key focus areas.
