Head of Biomarker Discovery

Conditions

• Permanent, full-time role based in Turku.

Tasks

• Study phage-biosensors and their interactions with disease biomarkers.
• Specialize in non-invasive sample matrices and their complementary roles to serum and existing diagnostic tests.
• Conduct complementary measurements using Mass Spectrometry and other established methods.
• Participate in deep analyses with clinical and research partners.
• Handle documentation and write scientific publications.
• Further develop the company's biosensor method.

Requirements

• M.Sc or PhD in life sciences and/or chemistry.
• Hands-on analysis experience using LC-MS and other established biophysical methods.
• Experience and understanding of biomarkers in the medical field.
• Understanding of predictive, prognostic, and pharmacodynamic biomarkers.
• Proactive attitude and problem-solving capabilities.
• Sufficient communication skills and fluency in English.

Preferred

• Hands-on research experience in biomarkers such as peptides and proteins.
• Understanding of treatment response monitoring and drug-receptor interactions.
• Interdisciplinary thinking and curiosity to develop existing methods.
• Experience with chemical database/software and molecular modeling.
• Reliable colleague with a curious mind to learn and share new information.
• Hard-working and collaborative attitude with the ability to work as part of a team.
