Junior Developer - Full-Stack, Front-end (Angular/TypeScript) or Back-end (Java) for the banking sector in Helsinki

About the role

This role involves contributing to the development of critical messaging features for our client's net bank and mobile bank web applications. You will be part of a collaborative team of developers and a QA, working on frontend, backend, or full-stack components depending on your skills and interests.

Work tasks

Depending on your preference, you can work on backend, frontend, or full-stack. As a team, you will take end-to-end responsibility for developing and maintaining core banking messaging features for web platforms, including software development, modernization, maintenance, and bug fixes.

We are looking for

• Relevant academic degree within IT (e.g. M. Sc. or University of Applied Sciences )
• Fluency in English
• For back-end developers: experience and knowledge of Java development and preferably with Spring Boot
• For front-end developers: experience and knowledge of Angular and TypeScript
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to learn new technologies and processes quickly

It is meritorious if you have

• For back-end developers: knowledge and/or experience with microservices architecture and REST APIs, database concepts (Oracle, Db2), Reactor,JPA/Hibernate, messaging systems (Kafka, MQ), exposure to CI/CD practices
• For front-end developers: knowledge and/or experience with unit or end-to-end testing frameworks (e.g., Jasmine, Playwright)

For at least the first 6 months, you will work on an assignment for our client in the banking industry. A credit check will be conducted for the selected individual.
