[För svenska, se nedan] Hanken School of Economics is looking for an Environmental Sustainability Coordinator (60-80%, temporary substitute position), 1.2.2026 – 28.2.2027 Hanken School of Economics is a stand-alone business school in Finland, whose mission is to be a research-driven business school that fosters responsible professionals to drive a sustainable future. Read more about our sustainability work and strategy here: https://shorturl.at/yZkVM As Environmental Sustainability Coordinator, you will be welcomed as part of Hankens Quality Assurance team. You will work in an international environment in close cooperation with and other support functions and our academic experts in the field What you will do: The work primarily includes a) developing and coordinating Hankens internal climate and biodiversity efforts b) internal reporting, development of data collection, dissemination processes to support internal decision-making regarding climate and environmental action c) maintaining collaboration in sustainability networks of other higher education institutions. Specific tasks include the following: - Develop and support Hankens sustainability work and achieving sustainability targets, including climate neutrality and minimizing the ecological footprint. - Responsibility for developing, collecting, analysing, organising, and consolidating sustainability data and information on Hankens operations, suitable for evidence-based decision-making. - Coordinating and acting as secretary for Hankens Sustainability Group. - Develop an approach for biodiversity footprint calculation and drafting an action plan to achieve nature positivity. - Preparing Hankens bi-weekly internal sustainability newsletter. - Coordinating and liaising with Hankens collaboration commitments to e.g. UNIFI sustainability network, FINN-ARMA sustainability network, PRME, NUAS Sustainability, the Climate University, and UNIPID. What we expect from you: - You have a passion for sustainable development issues and like to take initiative. - A BSc or MSc degree, preferably an educational background in sustainability sciences, and 2-3 years of relevant working experience. Prior work experience with higher education institutions is considered a merit. - Good knowledge about climate and biodiversity-related challenges, preferably knowledge of environmental footprint calculations. - Strong organisational skills for independent work and good attention to detail. - Excellent communication skills, with excellent command of English, both oral and written. Knowledge of Swedish and/or Finnish is considered a merit. - You have solid IT skills, including familiarity with common office software and ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams, including administration, faculty and students. What we offer: - The salary is based on the university salary system in Finland and placed on demand level 8-9 for expert and support staff, with an additional personal salary element. The total salary is between 3.430€-3.820€/month (full-time salary, will be adjusted according to part-time %) depending on merits and experience.
