We are looking for a Senior Lecturer responsible for teaching languages, especially professional English and guiding students in their language studies, mainly on our Kouvola campus. The position is permanent and full-time, and work starts on 19 January 2026, or as agreed. The position is subject to a probationary period. What does the position involve? In this position, you will be responsible for delivering both on-campus and online English language instruction and guidance, tailored to the diverse professional needs across our fields of education. The candidate must hold a Master's degree in the English philology or other relevant field and have a minimum of 3 years of practical work experience in teaching English. In addition, we also require that the candidate has either completed a teaching qualification, or will complete it within 3 years of taking up the post. These requirements are laid out in the Government Decree on Universities of Applied Sciences. To succeed in this position, your background should include solid practical experience in teaching professional, as well as in guiding students in their language studies. We value a flexible and independent working style, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams. Versatile teaching competence and strong digital skills are highly valued. You must be able to use both English and Finnish as languages of instruction. We also value qualifications and experience in teaching languages other than English. Availability to occasionally teach at our other campuses is an advantage, but not a requirement.
