The Construction and Infrastructure Application team is part of the Long Products Research Center within ArcelorMittal Global R&D. We are a small team working on development of products and solutions that enhance differentiation of ArcelorMittal's offer and contributes to its market growth worldwide, supporting technical sales worldwide. Your role: We are looking for a person with Structural/Civil Engineering background, professional experience in design who is passionate about research and construction. As Research Engineer, you will manage various research projects and you will be involved in following activities: Build, carry out and conclude projects to develop new applications, new products and technical solutions – starting form bibliographic studies internally and externally, identifying most suitable approach, partners, defining budget and completing with reports and summaries of your tests to ensure the sustainability of knowledge sharing, Define case studies to identify competitiveness of our products and solutions, finding research gaps, Develop methodologies and design rules for wide use of the new developments, Summarize and transmit projects' results to the project team and partners, Monitor new trends in the field and identify the need for new research topics, with the ultimate aim of initiating new R&D projects with customers, international partners and other research laboratories. Your profile You hold a Master's degree or PhD in structural engineering or in a related field, You have a first working experience in structural design office or related industrial R&D environment for at least 3 years, You can perform structural design of various types of structures using different material and verification following norms and standards. Steel and RC design are essential, timber and steel-concrete composite design are advantage. You are familiar with design software, and you have a sound understanding of numerical modelling, You have mature personality with a fair degree of independence, being persevering and creative at work, You are dedicated to industrial R&D, innovative, curious and result-oriented, You are rigorous and conduct your studies using a structured scientific approach, You like a challenge and you have a high capacity to be flexible and handle a variety of projects. You have advanced communication skills as well as social skills to work in a team within a multi-cultural environment, You have advanced levels of English; French or German is a strong advantage.
