The Department of Engineering (DoE) is interdisciplinary and active in the classical domains of civil, electrical, mechanical, and computational engineering. The focus of research is on the development of technological solutions, the sustainable and economical use of all kinds of resources, the offer of competences for the technological requirements of Luxembourg and the Greater Region industrial and public actors. Special emphasis is given to numerical simulation to reduce the required experimental effort, but the validation of the models on laboratory setup will remain an essential asset. The Department of Engineering (DoE) headed by Prof. Dr. Francesco Viti, is opening an Assistant / Associate Professor (depending on qualifications) position in Electrical Power Quality. The candidate will actively seek cooperation with researchers from within the Department, but also with researchers from other departments, faculties, and interdisciplinary centres, or external Luxembourgish research institutions. The ideal candidate will establish a globally recognized research program showcasing expertise in domains such as: • Electrical power quality and reliability • Security of energy transmission • Renewable energy integration The selected candidate will contribute to the teaching missions, the supervision of theses and (post) doctoral training. They should be open to interdisciplinary collaborations with both academic and industrial partners. Your profile The Faculty of Science, Technology, and Medicine (FSTM) seeks a candidate with: • Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering • A strong track record in research, including contributions to their field and publications in top ranked journals/conference proceedings • Experience in teaching at the undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate level • Experience in acquiring and managing research projects • Ability to work in a multilingual and multicultural environment • Good presentation and communication skills • Good organizational and management skills • Proven experience in engaging with industrial partners will be an asset.
