1 Converter Service Specialist - Technical Sales & Field Service (f/m/*) What are my responsibilities?As a Converter Service Specialist (Technical Sales & Field Service) in our department Metallurgical Services (MS AT TI), you will be part of our growing Converter Services team - expanding Primetals Technologies¿ footprint in the global steelmaking market. You will act as both a technical expert and sales engineer: understanding customer needs, presenting our service solutions, and performing converter inspections, audits, and modernization activities on site. Your goal: turn technical know-how into customer value - by combining strong engineering expertise, hands-on field work, and proactive sales engagement. Tasks and Responsibilities * Serve as the primary technical and technical-sales contact for converterrelated services (inspection, modernization, process audits, lifecycle management) * Conduct independent customer visits worldwide, presenting Primetals Technologies solutions and identifying new business opportunities * Perform on-site services, including mechanical inspections, condition assessments, and converter fitness checks * Prepare and coordinate technical offers for spare parts, inspections, and modernization projects * Analyze inspection results and prepare professional technical reports * Translate customer requirements into technical solutions and service concepts * Support modernization and upgrade planning, including spare parts and maintenance strategies * Cooperate closely with internal departments (engineering, sales, purchasing) * Execute supplier inspections and provide technical supervision during installation and commissioning * Prepare and deliver presentations and training sessions for internal teams and customers * Contribute to knowledge sharing and development within the converter services network What do I need to qualify for this job? * Completed higher technical education (HTL/FH/University) in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or related field * Several years of practical experience in converter operation, maintenance, or mechanical design ¿ ideally from a steel plant environment * Proven hands-on experience and readiness to perform on-site work (inspection, measurement, supervision, commissioning) * Strong interest or proven experience in technical sales and customer relations * Good understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems * Basic knowledge of converter process and metallurgical principles advantageous * Knowledge of AutoCAD, NX (Unigraphics), technical drawings * Confident use of MS Office * Very good English skills, written and spoken * High willingness to travel internationally (approx. 20¿30%) * Proactive, communicative, and solution-oriented personality On a personal level you convince us with your analytical mindset, strong commercial awareness, and effective negotiation skills, complemented by a hands-on mentality.
