We leverage advanced machine learning, microbiology, and bioinformatics to deliver fast, targeted solutions to clinicians and hospitals. Role Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Bioinformatician to expand and refine our computational pipelines and data infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience with whole-genome sequencing (WGS), Snakemake workflows, and high-performance computing (HPC) environments. This position offers a dynamic environment to innovate at the interface of precision medicine and antimicrobial resistance. Key Responsibilities • Develop, optimize, and maintain Snakemake workflows for processing microbial genomes and transcriptomic data • Conduct bacterial and viral genome assembly, variant analysis, and functional annotation • Design and deploy APIs to integrate genomics tools into web-based analysis platforms • Collaborate closely with microbiologists, machine learning engineers, and software developers • Analyze large-scale single-cell and bulk transcriptomic datasets • Participate in scientific reporting, documentation, and regulatory submissions • Present findings and tools to internal stakeholders and external partners Minimum Qualifications • M.S. in Molecular Life Sciences, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field • Strong programming skills in Python, Bash, and R • Proven experience with Snakemake or equivalent workflow management systems • Familiarity with HPC systems and Linux environments • Experience handling large-scale NGS datasets (e.g., 300+ samples, 820+ concurrent tasks) • Comfortable working with transcriptomic, metagenomic, and microbial datasets • Excellent communication and collaborative skills Desirable Skills • Experience with RESTful API development and integration • Familiarity with Git/GitHub for code versioning and sharing • Exposure to single-cell RNAseq and scRNAseq data processing Languages • English: Professional proficiency • French: Basic working knowledge (or willingness to learn)
