Spanish cuisine chef / cook

We are looking for an experienced Chef or Cook with a strong background in Spanish cuisine to join our team in Helsinki, Finland. The role involves working in a contemporary and multicultural culinary environment, focusing on traditional Spanish cooking while also learning and preparing Latin American and Caribbean dishes. The goal is to create a fusion of Spanish and Latin American cuisine, with potential elements of Finnish cuisine.

Main Tasks

• Prepare Spanish dishes using authentic recipes and techniques, including Croquetas, Cocidos (bean and chickpea stews), grilling, roasting, a la plancha cooking, Sofritos, slow-cooked guisos, deep-frying (frituras), plantain preparations, marinades, adobos, and rice dishes.
• Learn and prepare Latin American and Caribbean dishes, combining different culinary traditions.
• Contribute to the creation and development of new dishes and creative plating.
• Manage mise en place and food preparation efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional kitchen environment.
• Assist with inventory management and stock control.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and kitchen standards.
• Stay updated on contemporary culinary techniques, trends, and restaurant presentation styles.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a professional kitchen.
• Proven professional cooking experience.
• Experience with Spanish and/or Latin American cuisine is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of flavor profiles, seasoning, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and remain calm during busy service.\n- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team with a reliable, responsible, and positive attitude.
• Spanish language skills are highly valued.
• Candidates must provide verifiable professional references.
• Must have EU citizenship or a valid residence/work permit for Finland.
