Mechanical Engineer

In this role, you will be responsible for redesigning and developing space-efficient Kanban boxes, bins, inserts, dividers, racks, and modular storage systems for Eaton's manufacturing operations. The primary objective is to minimize the line-side footprint while maximizing safety, accessibility, and ergonomics. This hands-on project provides a direct window into industrial operations, where practical problem-solving impacts daily manufacturing workflows.

Work tasks

• Designing custom Kanban boxes, bins, inserts, dividers, racks, and modular storage systems using Creo and AutoCAD.
• Analyzing existing storage containers and floor space to determine optimal Kanban quantities and footprint-reducing standardized designs.
• Performing center-of-gravity calculations, mechanical stability evaluations, and basic simulation/FEA analyses.
• Collaborating daily with shop-floor production operators, logistics specialists, and other internal stakeholders.

Requirements

• Relevant study background in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Good practical knowledge and experience in 3D mechanical design.
• Knowledge of mechanical stability, center-of-gravity analysis, and basic FEA/simulation principles.
• Experience with Creo Parametric and AutoCAD.
• Strong creative and out-of-the-box design thinking.
• Practical, hands-on mindset with an interest in developing solutions directly for the production environment.
• Fluency in English.
