Strategic Procurement Manager - Semiconductor Materials (f/m/d)

Black Semiconductor is seeking a Strategic Procurement Manager (f/m/d) or Category Manager (f/m/d) to join the team in Aachen, Germany. In this role, you will lead strategic sourcing and supplier management for materials critical to semiconductor manufacturing, ensuring supply continuity, optimizing total cost of ownership, and maintaining quality compliance.

Main Tasks:

• Develop and execute global sourcing strategies for semiconductor materials (e.g., wafers, photoresists, CMP slurries, specialty gases, chemicals).
• Identify, qualify, and manage strategic suppliers aligned with technology roadmaps and production requirements.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and commercial terms to meet cost targets and secure reliable supply.
• Monitor material markets, supplier performance, pricing trends, and supply chain risks.
• Collaborate with R&D, process engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to align material requirements with production needs.
• Support new product introductions by sourcing materials for emerging process requirements and scalability.
• Manage procurement performance, supplier relationships, and reporting activities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in supply chain management, engineering, physics, materials science, business, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably in semiconductors, electronics, or advanced manufacturing.
• Proven experience in contract negotiation, supplier management, and cost optimization.
• Strong understanding of semiconductor materials and processes (wafers, specialty gases, chemicals, photoresists, lithography, etching, and metallization materials).
• Strong analytical skills with experience in ERP/procurement systems and data analysis tools.
• Fluent English; German language skills are an advantage.
• Willingness to work on-site at the Aachen office at least once a week.
