We are now looking for a Junior Security Engineer to join our Secure Engineering team based in Tampere. As a Junior Security Engineer, you will gain firsthand experience in the development and maintenance of secure platforms and services used by millions of users worldwide. Your primary focus will be on test automation and security-related tasks, where you will develop a strong understanding of security engineering principles and practices. In this role, you will actively take part in identifying and mitigating potential security vulnerabilities, conducting security assessments, and applying industry best practices to ensure the protection of devices, systems, and data. A key part of your responsibilities will involve designing, maintaining, and enhancing automated security test suites for both hardware and software, ensuring the robustness and reliability of our security infrastructure. As your skills and knowledge grow, you will take on additional responsibilities in designing and implementing robust security measures for HMD products, services, and solutions. You will work closely with experienced security engineers, gaining valuable insights into secure development practices and the broader field of cybersecurity. This position provides a unique opportunity to work alongside highly skilled colleagues, partners, and customers from around the world. Your contributions will play a vital role in meeting customer expectations for high-quality, security-hardened services while making a meaningful impact on the safety and reliability of innovative technologies. **Background/Qualifications:** · Programming: Strong competence on Python; working knowledge of Node.js (preferably in stream/data processing) · Android platform: Good understanding of Android platform architecture · Android development: Experience with Java/Kotlin for Android development is a plus. · Version control: Basic knowledge of Git for source code management · Infrastructure / CI-CD: Experience operating and maintaining Linux-based CI/CD and automation systems (e.g., Jenkins), including containerized environments and cloud-based setups (GCP, Azure) · Device automation (plus): Hands-on experience with Android device interaction and automation tools (e.g., adb, fastboot, UIAutomator) is a plus. · Communication Skills: Strong reporting and communication skills, both verbal and written, in English. **We offer you:** · Supportive and knowledgeable peers · Global setup environment · Learning by doing opportunities · Pave the path towards your future career
