The City of Alavus supports the employment of young people aged 14-25 and the acquisition of their first experience of working life. In the summer, the city employs young people from Alavuste for various tasks. Summer jobs are available for about 50 young people. 14-year-olds (born in 2012) have the opportunity to apply for a two-week Get to know working life and earn period. The salary is in accordance with the Local Government Employer's recommendation, i.e. €385.32 + 9% holiday compensation, a total of €420 and the working hours are 6.5 hours per day (incl. a 30-minute lunch break). Persons aged 15 to 25 (born between 2001 and 2011) can apply for a month-long summer job. The minimum wage of a summer employee is at least 50% of the national level salary of salary group A paid for the work in question. During the holiday season from 2 May to 30 September, a summer employee refers to a schoolchild, student or other young person who has been hired as a summer employee for a fixed period of time and who does not have a vocational qualification or professional skills in the field. The working hours are 6.5 hours per day (incl. a 30-minute lunch break). Those selected for the job will be provided with a half-day orientation to the rules of working life. The summer jobs offered by the city include customer service, camp counsellor duties at youth services, tourist information, gardening, child care, maintenance of sports facilities, cleaning work and municipal engineering tasks (required e.g. 18 years of age). In the summer, the 4H associations of Alavus and Töysä organize, among other things, summer clubs. These jobs are also applied for with the same online application for the Kuntarekry.fi service.
