Junior Full Stack Developer

About the Role Vapaus builds and operates a cloud-based bike leasing and sustainable mobility platform serving employers and employees in multiple markets. We are looking for a Junior Full Stack Developer to join our product development team. In this role, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of a production-grade web platform that supports leasing contracts, financial flows, payroll-related processes, and employer benefit programs across different regulatory environments. You will work collaboratively with engineers, designers, and product stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable features in a modern cloud-native environment. Key Responsibilities - Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Python and FastAPI - Work with PostgreSQL using ORM tools (SQLModel, SQLAlchemy) in production environments - Build and maintain frontend applications using React - Contribute to complex business logic related to contracts and financial processes - Participate in automated testing (unit, integration, and end-to-end testing) - Support containerised deployments and CI/CD processes - Contribute to infrastructure and cloud-based deployments (GCP, Terraform) - Contribute to localisation and multi-market feature support - Maintain system reliability, maintainability, and code quality in a shared codebase serving multiple countries Requirements - Relevant higher education degree (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering) or equivalent practical experience - Experience building APIs (REST-based) and working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL - Experience with modern frontend development using React - Experience working with version control (Git) in a collaborative environment - Experience participating in code reviews and structured development workflows - Understanding of software development best practices (testing, CI/CD, documentation) - Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment - Fluent English (written and spoken) Considered an Advantage - Experience with FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, or similar typed backend frameworks - Experience deploying services to Google Cloud Platform (e.g., Cloud Run, Cloud SQL) - Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform) - Experience implementing business logic in financial, leasing, employee benefit, or B2B2C systems - Experience working on products serving multiple countries with market-specific configuration logic - Experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Vitest, Playwright, or similar) - Experience contributing to structured design systems or admin interfaces What We Offer - Opportunity to work on a scalable international platform operating in multiple regulatory environments - Collaborative and supportive engineering team - Modern cloud-based technology environment - Competitive salary and growth opportunities
