Head of Mechanical Department (Ship Repair)

shiprepair Work tasks: Organizing and managing the work of the mechanical department within ship repair projects; Planning, allocating, and supervising mechanical works in dry dock and afloat; Supervising mechanics, fitters, and subcontractors; Organizing inspection, dismantling, repair, and installation of ship machinery and equipment; Controlling the quality of repairs of main and auxiliary engines, pumps, gearboxes, shaft lines, steering systems, and deck machinery; Ensuring compliance with project deadlines and production discipline; Participating in preparation of scope of work, calculation of man-hours, and evaluation of additional works; Cooperating with the Project Manager, client, superintendent, and classification society representatives; Monitoring compliance with occupational health and safety requirements; Preparing reports on completed works. Other requirements: Technical education (preferably in marine engineering or marine power systems); Minimum 3–5 years of experience in ship repair or shipbuilding; Experience in managing a production unit or team; Practical experience in repair of ship machinery and equipment; Ability to read technical drawings and documentation; Strong planning and personnel management skills; Knowledge of ship repair technological processes; Responsibility, organizational skills, and ability to work under tight deadlines; Good communication skills when interacting with clients and partners.
