Backend Developer. Build the heart of our web application

At Flexbuy, we are looking for a backend developer who will take technical ownership of our web based platform and help scale, optimize and further develop the core of our product. Our software makes it easy and free for companies to offer attractive employee benefits through salary deductions solutions. The platform integrates directly with payroll and financial systems, which means reliability, performance and data quality are critical. About the role Our core platform is built on a WordPress database architecture. This creates a familiar but technically complex environment where performance, structure and code quality are essential. You will play a key role in developing and maintaining the backend layer and will work closely with both the business and decision makers. Danish is not required for this role. However, you must be fluent in English, as English is our primary working language in the development team and in technical communication. Your main responsibilities Develop business logic in PHP Optimize and structure data in MySQL Build and maintain APIs and integrations between backend and frontend Ensure high performance and stability as the platform and data volume grow Continuously improve architecture and code quality Your technical toolbox We do not expect you to know everything, but we would like you to be confident in the following areas: PHP. You write clean, structured and secure code and are comfortable working with modern versions MySQL. You understand relations, joins, indexing and performance optimization WordPress under the hood. You understand the WordPress database structure such as wp_posts and wp_postmeta. We only use WooCommerce as a plugin jQuery. You can handle the scripts needed to connect frontend and backend Direct impact and short decision paths At Flexbuy, we value fast execution and minimal bureaucracy.
