Internationalisation is one of the cornerstones of Xamks strategy. As our activities grow, we are looking for an International Affairs Assistant. As an assistant, you will be responsible for the daily guidance and counselling of international students on campus, and when necessary, support them with practical matters outside the campus, especially during the early stages of their studies. International studies are significant and influential experiences that shape students future careers, meaning you will be working in a role that is important for their future. In addition, you will join a team of experienced internationalisation professionals and become part of Xamks internationalisation services. Your tasks include, for example: Being present on campus to support international students Advising international students in handling daily matters Providing service guidance to the appropriate authorities when needed Assisting international students with everyday matters outside the campus Organising activities that support settling in, in cooperation with other experts and student organisations We expect you to have: A relevant higher education degree Experience with internationalisation Good collaboration skills Fluent Finnish and English skills; other languages are considered an advantage Your workplace will be in Savonlinna. The work is carried out on-site. The position is permanent and full-time. The job starts on 1 April 2026 or as agreed. A probation period will be applied. In this role, you will be at the core of internationalisation in higher education and contribute to developing perhaps the most important form of European cooperation between higher education institutions. The Internationalisation Services team has strong experience in international cooperation and a firm desire to make our region more international—one skilled individual at a time.
