Software Developer, Frontend
We are looking for a Full stack or Backend software developer, whose focus will be Wärtsiläs new customer facing portal, MyWärtsilä. Our new portal will offer an extensive range of products and services to our customer base, and ensuring outstanding technical setup and performance is key to its success. The preferred location for this position is Helsinki, however Vaasa and Turku are also possible. Our teams typically work in hybrid mode. Your role and responsibilities As a Software developer, backend/Full stack, you will play an important role in the development of our new B2B customer portal, which is the principal digital touchpoint for our global customer base. You will work hands-on with a talented team of experienced developers, ensuring that our architecture, databases, back-end logic and APIs enable the new portal to meet its commercial goals. Youll be working as a part of skilled Platform Engineering and Developer Services team with diverse expertise. Youll also be part of our full stack product team, working alongside our Product Owner, Scrum master, designers, developers and other experts to deliver working software which helps Wärtsilä achieve our business goals. To be able to succeed in the position, we expect you to have: * Several years of experience in back-end software development * Strong skills in technologies such as Node.js, TypeScript, AWS CDK (must have), AWS, Azure (advantage), DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, Docker * A proactive attitude, taking ownership of your work and working well with others * Ensure best practices in software development to support long-term growth As an ideal candidate, you would have: * Hands-on development experience core skills being Node.js, TypeScript, AWS CDK (must have), AWS, Azure (advantage), DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, Docker * Additional Skills: Event-driven architecture: SNS, SQS, EventBridge * Monitoring/observability: Datadog, CloudWatch, logging best practices * Security best practices: IAM policies, API authentication (Cognito/OIDC) * CI/CD expertise: infrastructure as code * Scalability: database tuning (Dynamo/Postgres) * Experience in Salesforce integrations * Python * Experience with integration technologies (REST) * Experience of DevOps practices * Self-driven, supportive, analytical and goal-focused, with a 'can do' attitude * Keen interest in new frameworks and programming languages * Experience working in cross-functional and international teams * Excellent collaboration skills * Excellent language skills, fluent written and oral English Why you and us?
