We hope your expertise focuses on one of our research priorities: Behavioral interventions that promote mental well-being Prevention and treatment of type 2 diabetes through behavioral interventions Multidisciplinary solutions for promoting health and well-being at environmental, community, and individual levels Digital and technological innovations to support well-being Future-oriented, impactful, and preventive social and health services Sustainability and ecological perspectives in health promotion You may also propose new initiatives to expand the units research portfolio. We are now seeking a Senior Researcher (Erikoistutkija) at Xamk to lead the advancement of scientific publishing within the Preventive Health Research Unit. Your workplace can be located at the Saimaa Stadium campus in Mikkeli or the Savonniemi campus in Savonlinna. The position is full-time and fixed-term (3 years), starting on February 2, 2026, or as agreed, and continuing until January 31, 2029. A probationary period applies. What does the position involve? In addition to scientific research and writing, a key responsibility of the Senior Researcher role is securing external research funding. You will have the opportunity to participate in national and international research activities as well as evaluation work within your field. You will also contribute to developing a new operational culture where scientific writing plays a significant role in enhancing the impact of the university of applied sciences. Promoting open science and research, along with societal impact, is an essential part of the position. Your closest colleagues will be other research staff within your field. Why work with us?
