As part of a pre-selection supported by AMS Favoritenstraße, we are looking for 1 FPGA Design / Verification Engineer for Space-Based Quantum Technologies (all genders) Your Role as an FPGA Design/Verification Engineer: As part of our engineering team, you will: * Design, implement, verify and validate FPGA-based solutions for quantum key distribution systems, with applications in space and ground-based communication. * Lead the specification, conceptual design, and detailed development of digital electronics (FPGA) for space-grade hardware. * Collaborate with electrical subsystem engineering throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with space industry standards (e.g., ECSS). * Contribute to process improvements and the development of new methodologies for FPGA engineering in quantum communication. Your Background and Skills: To thrive in this role, you bring: * A degree in Electrical Engineering, Space Engineering, or a related field. * Several years of professional experience in FPGA/ASIC design/verification, particularly in space or aerospace projects. * Experience in designing/verifying digital communication IP such as coding, modulation, and digital signal processing. * Ability to independently create a comprehensive verification plan and environment. * Experience with constrained-random verification techniques and functional coverage. * Hands-on expertise with industry standard tools, languages and methodologies for design and verification such as SystemVerilog, VHDL, SVA, UVM, Python, TCL/TK, and MATLAB. * Experience with version control and configuration management systems (e.g., Git). * A team-oriented mindset and the ability to take on leadership roles in interdisciplinary projects. * English skills according to the requirements; German language skills are a plus.
